While ambling out of one of the labs this afternoon (head in the clouds, as usual) I was oblivious to a (tiny) geologist (with kettle) descending from upstairs. Startled, when I almost crashed into her, I'm ashamed to confess, I think I actually screamed. Audibly. To her credit, she seemed entirely unperturbed by this and proceeded to the kitchen (with kettle). The Earth Scientists (a thoroughly trendy bunch) regard us as being slightly strange and generally avoid us; I suppose I'm not helping matters.
