I like her, too. Of course, I was completely unfamiliar with her before Doctor Who, so all I can judge her on is that. [I hear she was some kind of pop singer in Britian.]

she had a dodgy pop career aged 15, which from what i remember was pretty bad (and i love me some dodgy pop so i'm not exactly the wrong person to ask) but she didn't really want to be involved in that, they just kind of plucked her up off stage school and it was all a bit accidental, really. but her acting career is totally different, she was previously in a tv show that won her some sort of award. i'm really sad that she's apparently leaving DW now too, she's very engaging.

both of them going! just as i'd come to love Christopher! although David Tennent, his replacement for the next series, is pretty cute. i'm sad, but also excited to see how he works it.
