lol I am tempted to do the research now.

The facts I know:
Apples are one of the fruits easily grown in the region that is now Slovakia, were probably very accessible even to poor people (read most of the nation in the past) and were easily stored and lasted during the winter. I know at least one more tradition concerning apples and Christmas.

Both my dad´s and my mom´s family did this during the Christmas Eve dinner before they met, and they had lived over 100 km apart. And their parents did it as well and I have no clue how many generations before them.

So from my very little knowledge, I would say it is a tradition typical for at least the region that is now Slovakia, possibly middle/eastern Slavic nations. And that it has been passed from generation to generation for some time now in many families . . .

Lol if you want me to do the proper research, I probably could . . .

I did! My hearts are always sloppy and it felt too childish to draw a heart anyway. So I figured this is strangely appropriate. And possibly funny?

Merry Christmas!

haha well you can always start a tradition? If I cold pick just one to carry over from this family to my possible future one, it would be this one. Splitting and eating an apple with everyone during the Christmas diner.
