what would you want on your holiday card?

something witty? something vulgar? intense? simple? well-wishing and that's it?

i'm working on the DHP holiday card (for our customers) and i'm kinda drawing a blank.

something fun and possibly literary. i like abstract, bright colors. anything that gets away from the typical victorian looking santa clause. simple. i like simple.

it's a tough road on the colors; we can only afford to print 2, and those are gonna be black & cyan, a la the website. i think you'll like where i'm going with it. i'll post shortly.

Barring extraordinary circumstances (as in you own a joke & novelty shop specializing in various forms of fake excrement), company holiday cards should not be vulgar. Given your industry, I would recommend something simple, witty, and well-wishing.

One idea that just came to mind? Find other companies' holiday cards. Study their style. Then poke fun at it. It shows you have a sense of awareness and history, while also individualizing you within your field.
