Once again you have written a wonderful piece! This episode really inspired me as well and I also thought on what might have been going through his head as he processed it all. I love the description of his little smile...almost a smile..and how the act made his lips ache - due to how rarely he ever even offers the hint of a smile. So true to his character!

Oh yes, I think he longs for the tiny chance that he might see her again too. Neither can find piece in the world as long as the other is out there somewhere. This point is made more poignantly in a later episode too.

I just love him. And Tom. *gg*

I am so glad you liked it - I thought it would be interesting to explore that night, as you know it had to be awkward and painful for both Athos and d'Artagnan. It didn't come out exactly the way I'd planned, but you know how much I love inner monologue and man pain, so that was awesome. Aside from the fact I got to talk about his sweaty skin. ;)

I am super relieved you thought it was IC. I don't know Athos too well yet…I hope to, as he's unbelievably addicting, but I wanted to try my hand at this again so I'm really thankful it worked. Bless. xxoo

God, tumblr is killing me with all the images of Tom and Santiago and the others - I saw someone had posted a picture of all four lads with the caption "so my father walked in on me watching The Musketeers the other night and said 'well, I see they're all going to their handsome lessons.'" LOL most definitely. My mom's all "hi, pretty," any time she sees Tom. :))))
