I loved them when I was a kid. As I've gotten older, the accumulated little injuries to various joints have made me leery of going on one again. I don't want to mess something up bad, especially the old neck injury from getting rear-ended. It healed up, but I still have just enough twinges to be leery of it.

I loathe roller coasters. I got bullies by the "you can't say you don't like it until you try it" as a kid, and once again as a teen, and I gritted through the experience and swore never again.

There were so many good characters in Persuasion, but the Crofts were near the top of my list of favorites. It is refreshing to see two happy people in a good marriage in fiction. So glad you were able to capture that in your novella.
