Books and . . .

Fair Winds and Homeward Sail is a very short novel that I wrote for fun. It takes Soppy Croft from Jane Austen's Persuasion and gives her a back story, and also addresses one of my misgivings about the book. (The other one, a major logic flaw, I feel Austen would have fixed if she hadn't died before she could polish this one.) KindleI did several ( Read more... )

Thanks for the links!

That's neat about the people who travel around to go on roller coasters. (I, personally, am terrified of the things.)

Have fun! (See you soon!)

I loved them when I was a kid. As I've gotten older, the accumulated little injuries to various joints have made me leery of going on one again. I don't want to mess something up bad, especially the old neck injury from getting rear-ended. It healed up, but I still have just enough twinges to be leery of it.

Understandable.

I loathe roller coasters. I got bullies by the "you can't say you don't like it until you try it" as a kid, and once again as a teen, and I gritted through the experience and swore never again.

I didn't know that was you! (Or if I did at one point, I had purely forgot.)

As it happens, I just finished reread Fair Winds and Homeward Sail at its original posting, having felt the yen after watching a good TV adaptation of Persuasion.

There were so many good characters in Persuasion, but the Crofts were near the top of my list of favorites. It is refreshing to see two happy people in a good marriage in fiction. So glad you were able to capture that in your novella.
