Llind always has a way out

It is fascinating to hear you quote almost verbatim Chuck Jones talking (in his autobiography) about Bugs Bunny. He was saying that he loved and admired heroes, because he wasn't one, and just loved how Bugs always knew just what to do. Possibly we all would if we could think about it for a while, but we all love the guy who has the perfect plan, the witty retort, the grand gesture, all at the operative moment. Wish-fulfillment for us all!

And if they don't have the perfect plan, the grand gesture, or the witty retort, they are good at scrambling an effective replacement. Whereas I always manage to do the wrong thing stupidly.

As do we all! Maybe that's why we need our heroes--to misquote Browning,a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a hero for?
