oh man i put together a website for the club by the way. i spent so long on it and maybe it was a huge waste of time...probably...but i am soooo proud of myself and i wish i could show it to you...unfortunately i can't because i haven't got a web server or anything. damn it.

step one: open internet explorer...

go to

ftp://yourpittusername@unixs.cis.pitt.edu

in the public folder, create a folder called HTML. dump your website in there. your index.htm page's address is http://www.pitt.edu/~[yourpittusername]

i know that's a lot of info in a really small set of instructions, so please reply if you need help.

I saw Li Young Lee read at the Dodge Festival, and he signed my copy of The City in Which I Love You with some message like "The city of the heart is the true city" or some nonsense like that. I think I swooned at the time, though now it seems sort of dumb.

I also saw Yusef Komunyakaa read, but all I remember is that he is a big black man with a deep, deep voice.
