Pimping CABIN PRESSURE

Cabin Pressure is a hilarious British radio show about a tiny airline company. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch and "that guy who played Javier in Les Mis". Lovely smooth voice. Oh, and Anthony Head turns up for a few eps and they sing a bit of opera together.

Thanks for the rec! I'll save it for when my Lewis obsession retreats to manageable levels (i.e. where I want to watch anything else or read anything else). :-) Because it sound cute.

partners_r_more was telling me about a show called Pie In The Sky that also sounds very worth watching...eventually.

There's a heap more than I ever expected from a radio show. I wonder how much of that is due to Benedict Cumberbatch being Martin. Of course my perception of the quantity of fics might be distorted by the fact that it's one of the few fandoms I'll read gen fic in -they are such an adorably dysfunctional family.

o my GOD how did I miss this post? Come to think of it, maybe I didn't. Possibly it was this post wot played a part in the inspiration...? Can't piece it together now. But oh, Cabin Pressure. 'tis enough to make me switch fandoms half-way through. Because voice porn. FOUR TIMES.

Also, I was idiotic enough to pay £9 for paid downloads before figuring out that I could download mp3s from youtube, duh.

I am having ridiculous thoughts about this show. Also, why you haz same icon as fueschgast? It is confusing to me! Or is this a sekrit Cabin-Pressure-obsessor icon?? In which case: I needses it.

Anyway, this show...! Are you in the UK? If so, you know Radio 4, and I am an avid lover of Radio 4 and never epxected a fandom to come roaring into my genteel breakfast and evening listenings. I used to listen to this and never expected! It is such a genius script, and must be such fun to act out per voice. The very fact that Cumberbatch plays someone small and ugly: only radio allows such a thing! Also, hidden in the humour and the hilarity (and yesterday I literally wept tears of helpless laughter over 'bear pola') is a total poignancy (the English are very good at this; I last experienced it in the last episode of Blackadder when they go over the top) and that's what shoots it into, as you say, the 'epic'.

Not in the UK, am tragically deprived of Radio 4. I am from an English family though, and love English shows, not just the comedy ones, but stuff like The Fades, and Whitechapel and of course, Sherlock :)
