I absolutely understand that accessibility is a real issue. But: it's a volunteer run archive with unpaid coders and they fixed it in 48 hours. If it was a month, then yes, screaming would be a little bit more understandable. But to be so awful that lim quits when the problem is fixed in 48 hours?
Even if I didn't believe that NN will get things done, even if there are some issues that need to be addressed, just the fact that people are calling for the heads of volunteers is enough to make me go "Whatever side you are on, I want to not be on it."
I just briefly saw the most shortened possible version of this and went *gah*.
My level of frustration with internets fandom is turning into total disengagement. I don't want to be excited with the internets. I don't trust it anymore.
Whereas my response was recognise that I've been taking all the work other fans do to create and improve this wonderful thing for granted and to wander around leaving messages of thanks and support where ever I could.
We (parts of fandom I love) have expectations that fans are nicer, more tolerant, whatever, but sometimes we're reminded that fans are just regular people.
I just stay away from the wank and the nastiness and don't let the bastards ruin my happy place.
