Stargate's a fandom I'm scarred by and therefore wary of - from the early days when all the fics seemed to involve rape and child abuse (or maybe that was just the mailing list I was on)

Yikes! I'm very into the characters, canon, and universe, which means I don't read much fanfic at all (because 99% of it seems to have slapped the names onto characters totally unfamiliar to me), and I can assure you Keiko's stories are as far from your experience as humanly possible. Her characterizations are just wonderful. If you haven't read her Steak series, you can find those stories here:

I know! What is it with this fandom that the fanfic is just WRONG?

It seems like very good writer EVER is into Atlantis (for which I am sooo grateful) - what is it about Stargate that made everyone just not, you know?\

Ah, I have read the Steak series, I knew the name was familiar :) I'll have to keep an eye out for new stuff from her.
