I keep rereading this; it's incredible. Went back and read the earlier ones, too, even though I know jack about LotR and SGA and less about Hogan's Heroes.
Alrighty! First off, thanks for the PDF, I read it on my kindle which is always convenient. So - I don't recall ever watching Hogan's Heroes, so I had no idea what it was about apart from knowing it was a WWII thing, but it worked for me from that point of view. You put enough in there to tide someone as ignorant as me over nicely, and hook me into the story. I really enjoyed the whole thing and obviously I now need to know how our boys get on with that tricksy trickster in Top Gear world (I mean, Jeremy Clarkson? What a bleeding nightmare!). I also loved how you brought the whole parallel universe thing full circle by making aged Hogan and his mate see Supernatural on tv - now my head hurts with all the paradoxes LOL!!!
Yay! Glad the PDF was useful and the descriptions sufficient. :) Heehee, sorry I gave you a headache! As for the Top Gear side of things, I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint--not only do I typically not write RPF, the characters haven't told me any more about what happens next. However, I'm not ruling out the possibility that this series would lead to other crossovers with SPN, and I do have a "Changing Channels" series on the back burner....
This is just too much! I haven't read the others, but now I'm gonna have to! I have loved Hogan's Heroes since I was little (the reruns of course, lol) and too see a crossover with Supernatural, SO AWESOME! Loved the Stargate: Atlantas & Coyote Waits. The only thing to make this great story even better was if you had used the American Top Gear. :) Great story, I really enjoyed it.
Hee, thanks! :) To be honest, I haven't seen the American version of Top Gear--you're talking about the one with Adam Carolla, right? I'd thought about trying to catch a few eps when Eric Stromer was announced as one of the hosts, but I couldn't justify paying for digital cable just to see that and the original version. I love Richard, James, and Jeremy, though... if you haven't seen the segment where Jeremy drives a Reliant Robin and it keeps falling over, you should look it up on YouTube. It's hilarious.
Just brilliant, all the way around. Loved how everything came full circle so that the older Heroes ended up watching the boys on TV! If i ever get breathing space, I will have to go back and read the others in the Verse.
