ack, I can't download the pdf without signing up to the provider...

I look forward to the typed version, although it's a shame cause doing letters in this format is a great idea.

My goodness! This is a labour of love and a work of art!

Thank you! =) I wanted to do something different for a change, rather than just a straight fic. I was reading some of Wellington's dispatches online and got the idea to do this.

You know I don't know Hornblower that well, but this is absolutely lovely work. The letters themselves give a real sense of a life, and the way they're presented is just beautiful, meticulous craftsmanship. You've created something special.

Thanks, that's very kind of you to say so. I'm very proud of it myself.

I love these. They say so much without being OTT (like the style to Bush compared to the style to Barbara).

I like the one to Maria being full of capital letters, like so much correspondence of the time seemed to be.

Bingo!

Hehehe thanks! I'd thought to do all of Hornblower's letters with the capital letters inserted every few words, but for some reason I imagined he wouldn't really bother with all that. =)

'A labour of love' is the thought that sprang to my mind too.

I've been able to view the pdf's, I'd be interested to read a commentary on how you went about this, it really is a fantastic idea.

Sadly my eyesight seems to be going the way of Hornblower's and I couldn't read much of the actual content so I will still look forward to the typed version. :)

ETA: Proving my point about me being as blind as a bat, I see the typed ones are up! *goes off to read*

Thanks! I do realise the font I used would be difficult to read. I myself had troubles reading it when proofreading the text.

Hope you enjoyed the typed version (which I should've put up earlier)
