My OWN flesh and blood!

I am stunned. I am appalled. I am completely thrown.

(Okay, not really, but this did throw me for a tiny loop.)

My sister called me a little while ago. We were having a perfectly fine, if not somewhat depressing conversation about the health of our grandparents (poor), my job search (ongoing), the cost of plane tickets (high), and her visit here ( Read more... )

I had that same conversation--practically verbatim--with my best friend awhile ago, and I just...can't even....I don't know.

It's sort of funny, though, because this girl and I are super, super close, and we talk about everything. And what gets us all upset (with all of the "what can you be thinking?,") is the Luke vs. Christopher issue. We can't even talk about it. It will ruin our friendship.

All this to say: I don't understand at all, but I totally know what you mean.

Hee.

That's so funny. And what is even funnier is I know exactly what you mean. I have a friend who likes Christopher, and also often sides with Emily and Richard during Gilmore fights. I specifically remember one summer night last year, sitting out on my porch, trying to explain to her why she was wrong: Luke was superior, and the Gilmores are usually wrong. (Not always, but most of the time. At least, they were in the instance she was referencing.) My old roommate also liked Christopher. I don't understand. I mean, sure he is charming in the first and second seasons. He really is. I was rooting for him. But, but...Luke and Lorelai are SUPPOSED to be together. It's so obvious!

So yeah, I try to avoid those conversations as well.
