Completely out of nowhere, absolutely minor rant. Don't ask.

I don't know why this annoys me, but it does. Don't ask what set me off because I'm not telling. My rant is this: it annoys me (obviously to a great degree) when people refer to Catholicism and Christianity as two separate entities. Just so you know: THEY'RE NOT. No, really! You know why that is? That would be because Catholics believe in Christ. ( Read more... )

I AGREE.

It's like, because I go to a church school, that instantly gives the RS teachers the right to slag off paganism, etc. When they don't have a fucking clue about other religions. Grr.

Anywho, back to TS2.

I always thought it was sort of strange, too. btw--merry Christmas. And, yes--as far as I've ever known, Catholics, all Catholics, are Christians. Of course, religious wars have been waged over this, by Christians who decided that they wanted to be Christian differently from what the Roman Catholic church's rules allowed.

Honey--I ask you, as a Jewish person, to please distinguish between Christian Zionists and Jewish Zionists. I am not a Zionist, but I don't think that Jewish Zionists are believers in Christ as Savior.

Duly noted. I was just ranting and searching for -ists in my brain and that one popped up. Fixed now. =)

I really don't understand how people don't know it, I guess is my biggest thing? The Catholic church was around first (as a Christian religion,) both as one church and when it later separated. And then again and again, as factions broke off from the Roman Catholic church. Don't these people know their own church's history? How did your Christian religion come from another church were that one not Christian? You know? It's just annoying. Blah, I'm done.

That would make the non-Catholic Christians go ballistic, pointing out that the Roman Catholic church was the original Christian church.

Don't even try to mention that the Last Supper was a Seder. It'll confuse 'em.

Glad you're done with it, sweetie.
