Life is a game, in so many ways.

I am going to preface this by saying that I have no idea where this post came from - the "life is a game" is something Lennen said to me last night, and it really struck home.

We only get one life to live. But what's the point of struggling through without some fun? Life is a game. Society says learn the rules, play by them, and you'll win. I ( Read more... )

we make our own choices; we pay our own prices. no one else got the manual to life, either, so society is only as scary as you make it. if the choice is between fear and love, i think the choice is easy.

Completely agreed. Society ... society doesn't scare me, though I do conform in some aspects. I work for the corporate world being the biggest concession that comes to mind.

As for the choice between love and fear, I feel the same as you.

Right, I forget to explain sometimes drwex September 16 2009, 20:49:05 UTC
It's from the Jewish custom of leaving a pebble at a gravesite.

It means "I was here. I read what you wrote. I took notice." Sometimes you need to say that without necessarily wanting to comment on the substance of the thing to which you respond.

It's a substitute for *hugs*. As you write in your post real touch is important and authentic and electronic *hugs* are often used too casually and without meaning or thought.

It's a meme I'm spreading. Feel free to use it, and pass it on.

I have been lucky to have a number of friends where platonic kissing was perfectly fine. There have been several news stories lately on how hugging in school is so common that facilitators are worried it is a "problem" because it is happening across genders (MM/MF/FF) and they are worried it may lead to additional intimacy.
