I'd recommend trying a ginger brew to help get the yuckies out. Basically, chop up a bunch of really fine ginger, pour hot water over it, and let it steep for a while. Then, drink the water, and eat as much of the ginger as you can stand to. Ginger is an amazingly good antiviral/antibacterial. You could also add lemon or some sort of tea to it if you want more than just the ginger flavor.
