"And if it's clearly mentioned that Buffy knew all along that Spike was back but that it wasn’t meaningful or earth-shattering? that will be devastating ."
Okay, the thought of that actually terrifies me! At first I read that wrong and saw it as "It was clearly mentioned that Buffy knew..." And I think I died a little inside. But phew that it's not the case. I'm not really following the whole S8 comics debacle, but I know enough to understand what all the outrage is about. I totally agree with you; BRING ON THE GOLDEN BUBBLE! Oh gosh, now I feel like running off and writing a whole pile of Spuffy fics just to make myself feel better.
LOL! Yeah, my Spuffy loving heart almost stopped when I read that, too! That's the absolute worst case scenario. And the saddest part is that it might be wise to prepare for that... :(

I know that angearia has a wonderful season 8 fic going (and bless her!), but I haven't had even an inkling of a bunny past those first few issues where they are in that castle in Scotland. I've used that, and I've used Satsu, and I've used the idea of a Slayer Central/Training facility - but that's it. That's all I can find to work with. Everything since then has been so bizarre or so icky that I just can't do anything with it. I'm afraid, for the foreseeable future, my season 8 fics are going to be taking place in the same alternate universe(s) that they were set in before we knew where Joss was going with the comics. I suppose it's possible, if this is really going Bangel, that I'll feel the need to "fix" that somehow, but I don't know that I even want to try at this point.

I've enjoyed reading that story so much! Sometimes it feels more canon to me than the actual S8 will ever be...

Yep. And I can imagine you're not the only writer who feels like that. It's hard to try to sort out the mess and form a vision of one's own based on that. So, even more kudos to Emmie!

It doesn't surprise me at all that people feel apathetic about this. But I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone will eventually do it anyway. :)
Ah sweetie, I think we will head back to more poistive spots soon. We were really feeling down about all what has been said and all the threads around Allie's answers , but the hopeful part in us will win.
Also, I imagine many writers won't incorporate s.8 material into their fictions.
As for the sparkly stuff surrounding the bangel reunion, I'm sure it has nothing to compare with the gorgeousness of the fiery hands of passion and Spike's glowing soul. ::hugs::

I really hope that we've now reached the point where the only way is up. Joss said that Spike is incredibly important to Buffy. I try to hang on to that. :)

Yeah, that might be very probable. But I still hope there will be someone who might feel the urge to try to fix at least something. Of course, a lot depends on what happens next in S8... Who knows, maybe the story goes to a direction which inspires fanfic writers in a more positive way, and not just because things need to be fixed.
I'm on "she knows" train since "The Girl in Question" and, frankly, I don't give a damn. We have seven seasons for exploring in fanfiction.
If Joss will announce publicly that, yes, Buffy knew all along that Spike was alive, and they met off-screen and had a lot of sex, and then decided to part ways - I won't be surprised. That would be typically Joss. :(

:) Yeah, I think we better be safe than sorry and brace ourselves for this option, too. Because why waste time, paper and ink on trivial matters... :/
