Sad and wistful. I can understand Jack wanting to forget at least some of his losses - they mount up and they must be such a heavy burden of grief for him - but at the same time, he's cutting away bits of himself, whole chunks of experience gone as if they never existed. Surely that's worse than remembering. I like that Ianto doesn't ask all the questions that enter his head. He's not one to pry.
