EEEEEEEEE. A fic! Look!

Still loving this. The tone is perfect and your details are amazing. I didn't mention this before, but I like how Ianto is basically "sure, maybe, whatever," and Jack basically hands him a key. And the way their stories compare and contrast is amazing! ♥

*clapping*

I love the numbness of it all, forget the cold. Especially the scene with Jack staring at the table.

I think Jack staring blankly at the table may be one of my favorite things, so I'm really glad that stood out. Thanks! <3

It reminded me so much of the way he stared at the floor of the butcher's shop while Angelo was cleaning the blood off him, so shocked and exhausted that he could barely function. Sometimes, minimalism is the most heartbreaking.

I'm drawn in by the total nonchalance of Ianto as Jack tries to establish a link between them. I wonder if he's already thinking that Jack will be spending time at his home when he decides to sleep in the smaller room and put the tech in the larger space. He seems to be just floating along while Jack is laying claim to him and he only just acknowledges the claim when he finally makes his peace with Lisa's death. There isn't anything extra here; just those things we need to begin to think just a bit differently about that relationship and the difference between love and need and need and desire. I really liked this.

Thank you! I think you hit the nail on the head, so to speak, when you said, "He seems to be just floating along while Jack is laying claim to him and he only just acknowledges the claim when he finally makes his peace with Lisa's death." I'm really glad you enjoyed this, and thank you so much for the in-depth comment! I really appreciate it!
