If they knew this was their last season they would have killed not only HRG but also Sylar.

You are so right! Before the dance 'imyourmum-bad/good-Sylathan' they should have killed him in an epic way...As much as I love Sylar, it would have been so much better...

Yes! I completely agree. I am not entirely sure what they were trying to accomplish with his character in the last season. In the previous seasons he was a much more interesting and complex character. Oh well...

I would have gone with Sylar dying on schedule at the end of Season 1. NOT because I dislike the character...I DON'T, but I think it's one of those cases where they kept him around because he was popular, not because they actually had a well-thought out story arc for him. Much as I love his "Company Man" period, the roller coaster ride of "You're a Petrelli, No you're not" went on Way too long.

Yes, I agree. And yeah, you could tell they really had no idea what else to do with the character which is why I probably ended up getting bored by him. (even though it took me until the 4th season. lol)
