The mother-out-law asked this morning if she heard cat fighting going on in our side of the house last night. No, there was no cat fight here. She must have been dreaming or something, I thought -- she never hears anything over here once she goes to sleep ( Read more... )

Ouch!

But, you might be surprised when you play it. I pick mine up every year or so and my fingers still seem to remember my favorite songs...at least the easy to moderate ones. I'll never be able to do third position correctly without hours of practice a day for months.

I don't find the positions so hard, as long as I can get used to the fingering. (See what I mean about euphemisms?! Just wait til you pop a G-string.)

At this stage, I'm light years behind you, dear. LOL. You'd be able to fiddle circles around me. I still have to get used to the fingering, even. (I love how playing strings is just one euphemism after another.)

Today I learned: You play the violin.

Unless this whole entry is some sort of twisted euphemism.

To be honest, I don't think I've ever really written about it much, even in the past. I played the viola from elementary through high school, and then never really did much with it after that. I got a violin recently, but I've barely touched it. Starting to have more desire to play with it, but it's been so long that it's a little bit like riding a bicycle, but it's gonna take a little time to not be wobbly and confused. LOL

I was texting with a friend last night, and I told him I was bored, and I figured I might play with my fiddle for a while. His response was something like, "DO IT. AND PICS!" He was surprised when I sent him a picture, and that picture was of a violin. Most people just don't know because I've just not played in so long.
