wow. read this start to finish, empathizing with every word. (if you'll recall, before i got the job at english, i posted swearing i was about a day away from being hauled out in handcuffs because my fist was going to swing with or without my say-so.)
i think there comes a point when a job is so detrimental to your well-being that you are left with no choice. la quinta was such an instance for me, as was gantos - the only times i've not worked through my notice (or in the case of gantos, GAVE notice - my brother told them for me when they called).
i have no regrets about either instance. i don't think you should either. because here's the thing - if you can handle management at someplace as vast as walmart, you can handle it ANYWHERE...and the next store will be so lucky to scoop you up.
{{hugs}} if there's anything i can do for you, emotionally or financially, just let me know. otherwise, keep posting. i'd like to hear how this works out.
Thank you. I appreciate your support in this. Four and some years ago, I almost did what I did do today, and the only difference was that the manager there basically begged me to finish the week, and I agreed....
This time, no such agreement would be acceptable.
Still waiting to hear back from the district manager. She wasn't in the office when I called. So we'll see what comes of this.
Huzzah for you! You should feel really awesome right about now. You've put up with a lot of shit for a long time. It's about time you said No more, dammit!
