I've pretty much decided that I hate (almost) all my usericons. I don't know. They just don't feel like they are what I want anymore. I just need a total LJ overhaul. Perhaps that's just akin to everything in my life nowadays. I'm sort of feeling like I'm in a massive upheaval of all things me. Like I need a change. I mean, I've made a lot ( Read more... )

Glad to see you here, Mike. Granted, I haven't been around much, either, but I did miss you.

And babble. Please. Babble all you want - we are listening. The feeling of wanting to do something different with your life is an important one - most people never even realize that they could do something different. That alone puts you ahead of the game.

It's good to hear from you on LJ. I've been wondering how you've been doing and how things are going. (I also cannot wait for the end of May to come around! ^_^) It's good to see a post from you ( ... )

Pointers?

LOL. Diet soda. (But if I recall, you're not much with the soda anyway.) Check out my comment to Chris (lecoeurnoir) because that says a lot.

I went to diet soda for awhile. I don't think I lost any weight on it, but I did notice more headaches. Since I've gone back to regular coke, the headaches have decreased. We eat a lot of organic and healthy food. When we do eat out once in a blue moon, it's usually fairly healthy (Chinese, Italian, etc.). I've started buying Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, etc. frozen lunches to take to work. Not so much for the healthiness, but because I find myself with less and less time to prepare meals. I still have to take snacks such as fresh fruit, fruit bars, or high fiber cerals to eat. I don't think I'm getting enough fiber and the salt content on some of these frozen meals worries me. The freezer is full of them, so we'll see how it goes.

Holy crap man...

You've just accomplished something that a lot of people could never do. 72 pounds.

Congrats!

I wasn't sure I could.

I guess I'm full of surprises for myself.

Thanks. Evidently you know where to find me too. (I knew that picture on Facebook looked familiar, then there it is right here.) I remember when people started giving me the "How are you doing it?" question as they started to notice I was slimming some, that's when I even really thought about it, and the biggest change I'd been able to determine was diet soda.

Seriously.

It was just one of those things I decided to try doing. Realising how much soda I was drinking (and it really hasn't changed a lot) I forced myself to drink nothing but diet soda for a week. When that week was up, I "treated" myself to a regular old Pepsi.

I only choked it down because I paid for it. It tasted like syrup to me. Prior to that, I'd never even thought Coke was sweet. I guess that's the difference when you make yourself adjust to calorie-free, sugar-free. It makes the old pretty overwhelming. I'd probably be better off to eliminate soda altogether from my intake, but that doesn't seem nearly so likely to happen ( ... )
