So Huckabee and Obama won in Iowa. I'm not surprised about Huckabee, but a little bit surprised about Obama.

As much as I think Huckabee can "graciously submit" himself to an anatomically impossible vulgarity, I wouldn't be opposed to him getting the nomination. He's entirely beatable-and while the Democrats obviously have their share of problems ( Read more... )

Another example of her political pandering, and it's one of the reasons she rubs me the wrong way. Admittedly, all politicians pander, but she just seems to do it more often than most. Also, she has a tendency to be rather non-commital on things I think are important, which, again-it's politics, but she seems to take it a little far.

You know, it may just be how I view politics, but that's one thing about her that I don't really care about. I mean, it's politics, she's a politician-the fact that she has obvious political goals doesn't seem like it's anything horrible to me. I guess I just don't expect anything else.

Sure, genuine care for care's sake is nice, but is it necessary in this context? As long as you stick to your position, why does it matter if you're doing it because it's a personal matter of Wrong vs. Right or if you're doing it because it's politically savvy? Obviously, if you pull a bait-and-switch, then it's shitty, but if you don't, do your motives really make any difference?

As much as I detest Huckabee, I wouldn’t say he is “easily beatable” He is all about the Baby Jesus and Jesus = support from a large chunk of voters.

As you know, I loves me some Obama. He has been one of my personal heroes for a super longtime and I think what he has accomplished so far is truly amazing. However, I think it is much too soon to throw my support behind one candidate, even if the candidate is totally cute*. Lol

*This is a joke. Looks are obviously not that important since I supported John Kerry and he is one unattractive mood.

Ps. My best friend loves Ron Paul and it is freaking me out.
PPS. I miss you and Slyvia soooooo much!

Yeah, but it's almost a guarantee that the Indepedents won't vote for him. And as Iowa has shown so far, they seem to be willing to vote for Obama. Plus, the rich conservatives are not terribly happy with his economic record.

I'm leaning toward Obama more and more, I think, to be honest. And yeah, it's a little early. Ohio's primary isn't even until March.

P.S. ...that scares me just a little.
P.P.S. Oh my god, I know. Will you be moving back in tomorrow? I know I will as soon as humanly possible. My family is driving me just the slightest bit crazy.

Ron Paul is a scary man
Did you hear that he spoke out against the the Civil War?! How can you be against something that happened so long ago? Why would a candidate even say such a thing?

My best friend thinks the North American Union is already in the works and that we already have NAU currency. I swear she wasn’t always this nuts.

Ps. I hope to be back Sunday afternoon!

...against the Civil War? Does he think this is 1861? I think I'm a little worried for him now.

Oh dear god. WTF?

P.S. Yay!
