I'm bawling right now. Wow. Completely heartbreaking when he talked to Emma about everything, and when he spent time when Sarah. Wanting to know what happens but at the same time dreading it.

Again, I went through several tissues reading this.
But I find it ridiculous that Sarah didn't know the concept of death by the age of nine. I know that American kids movies tend to be very dumbed down, but hell, even Disney movies have death in them. And it's impossible to not understand what happened to Mufasa in Lion King, for example.
From what I remember, I fully realized that every person has to die some day when I was around six.

In terms of Sarah, I used the example of my cousin Nick, who, at ten when our grandmother died, had no real understanding of why it happened or how. Canadian, but a little more sheltered I suppose. Nobody took him aside and explained it to him and he sat through the whole funeral simply not quite understanding what happened. He was very close to her and his mother didn't know how to explain that he would never see her or have her again, so she just didn't. It might be unlikely, but Sarah doesn't spend a whole lot of time with her mother, who should be the one explaining these things to her. Instead, she had Noah, who mentioned their dog dying but they covered it up and this is the first time he's had to talk about death with her otherwise. But your opinion is your opinion and I appreciate it all the same.

Jesusss, every time I read one of these chapters, I end up a mess. Your writing is brilliant and keeps me captivated (regardless of how devastating it is). I'm not sure if I have commented on this story before, but I wanted to so you know that I am reading, and loving, every little bit you write :)
