Calling? or Ministry? or just Disernment?

My SIL is the "expert" on all things Mormon these days. She grew up Catholic and just converted a couple of years ago to LDS. She is always talking about her "Calling." Apparently, the Bishop calls you up and tells you where you are needed to do God's work. It seems like a call to ministry only God leads you to it, indirectly, through the Bishop.

I also think that the whole "bishop tells you your calling" is a little bossy. But I'm all about the autonomy.
