If you liked Miss Pettigrew, you should read the book. It's great fun. I had never heard of it until I saw a trailer for the movie and thought it looked like fun, and when I learned it was based on a book, I found it at the library and read it and loved it. Then months later I finally saw the movie. Which I also liked, but since I'd read the book first, that affected my opinion of the movie since (of course) they made a lot of changes. The author is Winifred Watson.

Bayard and Neil are different people. Bayard is older, fences, and does wood turning primarily. He has been turning for at least 20 years before joining the SCA. Neil is more into wood construction, and seems to take a peculiar enjoyment of making other people's project happen. He is currently collecting rocks for our koi pond, in addition to anyting else he is doing.

I had kind of gathered as much later, but thank you for the clarification. Does Neil actually have a SCA name?

If he has another name, I don't know it. Everyone calls him Neil.
