I problem with all these social medium deals

... is you end up with everyone on one site and you just have to constantly watch what you want to say! Although honestly I rarely want to do so, but it can be kind of a pain!

I know I've been gone for a while, everyone I know has ended up on FB! The funny thing is I compose LJ posts all the time, I just don't make it to LJ.

So I have an ( Read more... )

That's why I keep posting here. It's not under my name, and the readership is under a dozen, so I don't feel I have to monitor myself.

I'm in the same boat when I do post... Not that the store gives me as much time to write as I used to have.... Most of what I would write about would be the shenanigans of my heavy political 7th Sea game that's been nicknamed the "Game of Thrones" edition.

But to the meat of your post, I personally agree that she shouldn't have sent them to to another state to be entered into the State Fair, but I can see a possible reason that perhaps might make it a touch more acceptable: she may not have a local fair category in her state she can enter the items into.

I don't know what she made, so I don't know how likely it is she would have a category in her state fair for her art. Arizona's State Fair has become very hard to enter non "traditional south-west" art into. My aunt-in-law (though she's more a sister than my husband's aunt) does gorgeous Celtic art and there just isn't a place for it at the Fair.

I'll have to check and see what Fairs are near her. Near as I can tell the reason for it was more that "M" was entering something she'd grown, so I think it was more along the line of... well sense you're already doing it.

She has a little bit of everything. I mean that pretty seriously too, she had a lot of different stuff and "M" found a category for it all, which is how I found out actually "M" posted about finding categories for everything.

I do find it slightly less annoying if they were entered here because she didn't have a category for it. I still don't like it (maybe she should petition HER fair), but I feel less irritated by it. Thanks for the thought.

Honestly though Kenton and I were thinking about checking out the fair stuff and see if anything is marked out of state, if so we are thinking about saying something to the powers that be.

I don't like the idea either (though Kelsie has petitioned our State Fair about the Celtic Art and been told it's not "Arizonan"). Kel's solution has been to hit the Celtic Festivals in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.

Which brings me to the other thing that would have made me like this situation more that doesn't appear to be happening... Kel goes in person to every fair she displays her art in. This girl is mailing it to a fair she isn't attending. I'm not okay with that, even though I do understand why she might be doing it.
