Best of luck to all Wrimos! Again, I've decided to sit out this year, so this would be a good time to jump ship if you have me friended. A few people did find me there, and trust me, I completely understand.
That's an effect of the seasons. As of yesterday we're now in what is spiritually the dark of the year, the time of introspection and hibernation. Humans as a species are adapted to warm climates...we did evolve in Africa...so it's no surprise we find it hard to motivate ourselves to do anything, even the things we love, this time or year.
It's frustrating to me, because I like being inside and doing homey things, and I don't mind snow. You'd think I wouldn't mind it. It's probably the dark. Doing errands on foot in the dark feels off.
It does, indeed. It keeps throwing me off going to work with how dark it gets at 4pm. It's disorienting, especially since the change is so sudden with daylight savings time ending. If it weren't for that, I think we could adapt more easily to the days getting shorter.
Isn't it wierd, then, that school semesters end at the points where we're either demotivated to do anything (like, say, final exams) or when we're so hyperactive that we just want to get out? It's strange, now that I think about it.
