I am slightly disconcerted that my initial reaction to this was "Aw, Jaime took Nick lessons!" That...shouldn't be endearing, self. He took lessons in being mean. And being sexy, but still.

Also, may I note once again that I love the way you write dialogue? It's delightfully clever and flows so well.

Well, I like to think being mean is something Jamie picked up himself rather than needing tutoring. ;) But the drawl may be somewhat Nick-connected...

And thank you!

Yeah, Jamie was being mean to Seb all along. It's just that Seb didn't care so much when he was in power (he cared some, but it was more frustrating that anything else).

My mental ear cannot hear English drawls. I know about them from context, but my American head still tries to make them sound like someone from South Carolina or Texas. Which is very amusing, when it is Jamie or Lord Peter or somebody doing it.

I am very frustrated that the book is out in the UK, and not here.

The book isn't officially out anywhere until June 14, but any author without a laydown date has slippages. ;)

So the beautiful prisoner in distress routine was unlikely to work, then. Just hell.

Oh Sin. ♥

Awww, my love for Jaimie. *still wants him with Nick though* *lol*

I'm confused, why is it possible that amazon already sent me the book if it's not due for another 5 days? Got mine yesterday.

Quite a few people want that. ;)

Only fancy writers have absolutely fixed release dates (like J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, Suzanne Collins) - it's so they can hit higher on the New York Times list. ;) Other books trickle out earlier, it's totally normal.
