I always get excited when I see you've posted something new on your blog, because I know my day is about to get brighter, regardless of how bright or dark it was up to that point.

“She could stand to exercise more as well,” Mum said. “Get her figure in trim.”
“Mae looks as if she’s intelligent enough to find things to eat,” Nick said, and shoved a plate across the kitchen island at Mum. “That’s not a bad thing. You two don’t eat.”
Once again, I would like to reiterate that Mae is my favourite character, but more than that, I love that Jamie and Nick love her. Well, "love" (hopeful shipper) has to be in scare quotes when it comes to Nick.
Mae and Jamie make me wish I had siblings closer to me in age so I can be actual friends with them. My baby brother is 10 years younger. I adore him, but it's hard to be "friends" with a 15 year old boy.
