Well, I guess she does live for six more years: I will give thought to anything that would not be horrifically spoilery... I'm so glad you enjoyed!

I really enjoyed learning more about Marie, who is so mysterious, and also about Olivia before she went completely off her rocker.

...Olivia has grown on me a lot.

Oh ... I felt sorry for Olivia before, but not sympathy. Now that's all I will ever be able to feel when I think of her. I love the explanation for why Olivia was so known, and felt as though I had met Daniel before, through his sons. Lovely story in itself, and a beautiful response to the poem.

He is very much Nick's father, too! Genetics shemetics, as they say in the borscht belt.

You just made me love Olivia. And oh, Alan. And it gives a depth to Olivia's relationship with Alan that's so... it's heartbreaking, in a way.

I cannot read it right now because the house is far too noisy for me to properly concentrate. I have linked to my facebook and to my livejournal, which though I do talk about and evaluate books I am not sure counts as a book blog.

Aaaand I found a quiet slice of time in which to read. The reading has left me with a question--As Marie asks, "what had started the cycle: Olivia’s parents being scared of her or Olivia testing them by trying to provoke fear, and then getting angrier and scarier when it worked"? Marie does not know, but you the author are much better-informed.
