I spent way too much money on silk/wool thread. it's not just for the pocket, though - I really love the way this particular material feels and crewel-s. I also have a few additional project ideas in my head, so I consider this an investment in them ( Read more... )

I don't have advice - but I love that dress - and just wanted to tell you I have a pattern for a natural form era petticoat from La Mode Illustree of 1877 - and have it mostly translated and such too. Just in case you want it. (There's also an 1870s petticoat pattern in Cut of Women's Clothes). . .
