That's very nice and very well written, and although the definition of marriage is most certainly subjective to each individual person, I still think it's a very accurate description.

yeah...the assignment is to write what marriage means to me...but my inclination to redefine what it means to be married on a whole (meaning for everyone) is taking over. Does that make sense?

I like that you are trying to say, its from the point of view of people. Clearly seperate from legal standpoints. It doesnt say anything about recognition from outside sources... god , govt, whatever.
Its a choice.
