And the ref back to Four--"Don't forget me"--might have made me squee a bit.
Oh, I melted at that! And the original "don't forget me" moment was one of the flashback clips they used last episode, which makes me wonder if it was chosen on purpose.
Maybe it's my imagination, but I think DT was wobbling a bit there too. After all, this is the last thing he officially filmed as the Doctor and he is a fanboy enough to get the double meaning of the "don't forget me" line.
He's very definitely fanboy enough! Also, someone pointed out over on doctorwho that it hearkens back to Donna and what happened to her. So there's a triple meaning.
I knew it was going to be a trap - that much was obvious - what I didn't expect is that Peter did genuinely fall in love with Sarah. He wanted to live because he wanted to be with her.
But he makes his choice for the greater good and takes the consequences of that choice - his own death. And he makes that choice because he's in love with Sarah.
This is pretty powerful stuff for a children's TV show and it just makes me love it all the more.
Oh my poor Sarah - I love the way Lis walked up the aisle at the end after announcing that the wedding was off - she didn't break her step or resort to any histroinics or mugging but you just knew she was desperately holding herself together and that she burst into tears when she was somewhere private. I've always thought Lis was a much better actress that she is often given credit for but here, she has outdone herself.

I know! I expected him to be the bad guy or to just be a stupid lackey (like Donna's fiance in tRB) but I genuinely liked him by the time he made his choice and it was sooooooooooooo sad!
After being bothered by the Judoon episode where the danger was muted because you knew no one was in any real danger (trances instead of killing people outright...really). I liked that someone actually died/sacrificed himself to save the world. Consequences are good. This is why I like the Trickster episodes - there's always a cost to saving the world that isn't always obvious in other stories. I liked Peter more than I expected, and I'm glad that he didn't turn out to be the villain of the piece
