K-9 & Company Audio Commentary

Oct 05, 2008 09:21

I watched my Netflix of K-9 & Company yesterday. Having already seen the show, I concentrated on the extras, which were really actually very fun. There was a fantastic "interview" with K-9 that had me rolling. But the tops had to be the audio commentary with one of the script supervisors, Lis, John Leeson (K-9) and Linda Polan (Juno Baker ( Read more... )

Alas, I don't believe there will be any commentaries on SJA. :(

I know!

But I have received a message that mine is on the way, so I can report back.

Do they think it wouldn't appeal to the kiddy set? :(

Oh, please. The average age of view is 37. We WANT commentary (and Juno Baker), darn it!

And, yes, they mocked the opening credits.

Who can honestly say they havent?

I think there is a Juanita Marquez in Madrid, Spain, who may have forgotten to mock them, but she's iffy. Other than that? The whole universe has mocked those opening credits.

BRING BACK JUNO BAKER!!!

Lol, I am dying to hear this commentry now. I'm cheap and watched K9 and Co on youtube. But this sounds wonderful, I love how it makes Lis sound like she was really putting her foot down and saying out much she hated it. I'm not suprised. I loved it personally, but I have to say, yes it was very shoddy haha.

I have a soft spot in my heart for K9 and Company. Yes its shoddy, yes, its not a great script, yes, its appallingly directed. But you do get Lis showing what a fantastic and talented actress she really is as she tries single handedly to make the show better then it can ever possible be. When she says
'so you didn't forget me, Doctor' you can see just what a supreme actress she is.

And trust me if you call yourself a fan of Lis' you have not lived until you've seen her as flirty, flighty and seductive in Gulliver. She is screamingly funny.

I just listened to that same audio commentary today and I agree with everything you said. Bring back Juno Baker! And I guess it's less likely that the actress who played Aunt Lavinia is still alive, but is Aunt Lavinia dead in TV canon? I don't think she is. Wouldn't it be great to have someone play her again on SJA? I think Aunt Lavinia could really face down an alien or two, and she's never gotten the chance. (At least not on TV; I still haven't made the foray into the Big Finish audios.) I also have to add that it was great to hear from John Leeson and get a little of his perspective on the whole thing. And I too really really hope there is audio commentary on the SJA DVDs!

Mary Wimbush (Lavinia) died a few years ago sadly.

Lavinia is dead in the Big Finish canon and it would seem thus far, that she's also dead in the TV canon :(
