We are in Hokitika, which we like to call "Hockey-tika" just to Canuck it up a bit. :p We have been doing lots of hiking and also went river kayaking a few days ago, plus caving yesterday -- unguided except by the light of our phones! Tomorrow is going to be epic: we are going ice climbing on the Franz Joseph glacier ( Read more... )

It reminds me of scenery I've seen in California, Oregon, and Washington.

Aaaaah Hokitika. It's one of my favourite places. I have a lot of very special memories from there. Aaaaah Hokitika.

Actually, I love that whole west coast very much, even the rain.

By the way, just so you know, the New Zealand calendar arrived yesterday. Not only am I impressed enormously by you, as well as by your talents and your abilities, I'm also impressed at how you can run a business at arms length and still get it to work. :))

We loved Hokitika too... because it had a great library with free wireless intneret and power to charge our electronics, haha! The town was very cute though. We camped at Lake Mahinapua about 10km south.

I adore the West Coast. :) But we HATE the sandflies! "WHERE'S THE CALAMINE? I'M GOING TO GNAW MY LEG OFF!!!" is becoming a common phrase. :p

My parents solely enabled my ability to do the calendars from arm's length -- oh, and the internet. All hail the internet!

Nice to see you again.

I finally bought a point and shoot digital camera...my first digital camera.

I have probably hundreds or thousands of film pics though to pick from to publish....sooooooooo

how do you put your logo on? Any tips?

Love your pics here...remind me of Michigan in the green deciduous trees and such. I esp enjoy them cause now is snow and winter for us....

What is the blue flower?

I esp enjoy the little viney plant pic.

I like heart shape leave plants too....

Happy New Year...been off LJ for long time.

I made my logo in Photoshop (with a transparent background and saved as a PNG or GIF so it will go overtop of photos without the background covering them). Then I made a Photoshop action that places it on each photo automatically when I run it as a batch automate function. If I sound like I'm speaking another language, just Google it and it'll make better sense in a tutorial!

The blue flower is actually supposed to be white but it didn't expose correctly! Not sure what kind it is.

Happy New Year to you as well!
