Lovely trees! I especially liked the one of the tree fern =D It was lucky that you didn't fall off that cliff-thing! And very nice of you to make arrows on the trail =D

In the first photo, the larger trees in the background look like they were painted!

The lighting does have that effect, doesn't it?

It has been called the "Dinosaur Forest", so it most certainly is ancient! And I was really surprised to see manure, because there aren't many walking trails that are multi-purpose and allow horses as well. Definitely would have made the 9.3km go by faster!

did you manage to get the underside of a silver fern? they are absolutely beautiful in the dark!

No, but I did see them! I've heard that they line trails with them sometimes, as they reflect light and make the path easier to see.

sorry about the delay and the quality... huge computer issues etc.
anyway...
I took this in Rotorua, at the kiwi place. yet another time I've most probably thoroughly embarrassed my husband, as I lay down on the ground to get the angle I wanted. unfortunately, these days, getting up isn't quite as easy as it used to be..

[the underside of] a silver fern! [at night, by flash]

Lovely! The only silver fern I brought home with me is on my All Blacks sleeping bag. :p

Are you still interested in that bird print Lindy?

I was looking and thinking about how amazing it would be to ride there ... then I read the bit about the cliff dropping away. lol probably not as fun.
But man, looks so, so beautiful. It must have been magical to be in there by yourself.

That was the only narrow, sandy part of the trail, but yeah, a horse's weight would easily crumble that unstable bit!

I didn't come face-to-face with another person the entire 24 hours I was in the Forest Park... amazing!
