The hostel I stayed at in Fox Glacier also happened to be the information centre (and the general store... just kidding), and I explained to the helpful lady that I was unsure whether I should book my glacier walk for the next day, which still had a good chance of rain, or wait for the day after, which was assured to be sunny (called "fine" down ( Read more... )

Loving all the wonderful photos. The one of the guide looking all adventurer is reall sweet. Prob my favorite, but mostly because it stirs my muse. *wonders if you have any pics of Banff National Park*

It could be a good story photo. :)

Aww, I haven't been to Banff NP since I was a kid, except for a brief day excursion last summer where I foolishly went on the first day of summer holidays; the traffic was insane and my friend and I couldn't get anywhere (we didn't even attempt to get up to Lake Louise).

I have a fanfic that is spending time there right now, I can't remember the name of the lake right now, I might get back to you on that, but i'd love to know what it really looks like, not the professionally taken on the best day ever pics they's got on the website.

You guys obviously have your priorities straight, haha.

The patterns really are striking, aren't they? Constantly changing, too.

Thanks! A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a bit of context is always good. :)

More amazing photo's Sarah, thank you.

I think what I find most striking is the color of everything. The color of the ice, of the water...just amazing!

I'm looking forward to seeing more!

The vibrancy of the landscape is also what a lot of people found stunning about Australia too. I recently made a slideshow of my favourite Oz pictures that I'll try to get up here in a few days -- it has a LOT of colour in it!
