Sarah really appreciates Isamu's honesty. She knows that he'll tell her how things really are and give her a good kick in the pants if she needs one. He also is her window into what's cool and modern. She also likes that she doesn't have to be Miss Polite around him and she can loosen up and even act a little bitchy.
She thinks of him almost as a little brother, but she's well-aware that there are parts of his life that he doesn't share with her, and it troubles her a little, because she wants him to do well in life and not end up self-destructing.
TwT so sweeeet. I love the Sarah/Isamu relationship. It's sort of like sex and the city where they are bitchy because they can be. :D Sarah needs to like, go clubbing with him one day.
Mel is practically like a daughter to Sarah. She loves her and cares about her and wants to protect her, but at the same time she also sees Mel as her savior. She really gets that Mel is more than human (she understood this even before she had Mel's powers). I think at one time, Sarah was more like an 'aunt' in the sense that she could talk to Mel about certain things (like boys), but now she's too close to Mel to be objective about things like that. I think Mary would be Mel's 'cool' aunt. :)
As for Irma, Sarah feels sorry for her. She sees her as a victim of Ume, and tries very hard not to blame her for what happened in the city (or what Ume has done to Mel). She would like to be closer to her, but is afraid that will upset Mel (she's also afraid that there's too much history between them and Irma will ultimately reject her). It's ironic that Irma needs waaaay more TLC than Mel, but at the same time, Irma is far more independent.
Sarah thinks Hanatarou is the cutest! He sets off her mothering instincts like crazy, and she tries very hard not to give into him, because she doesn't want to embarrass him.
She likes him, and would like to get to know him better, because they seem to have a lot in common, but his politeness gets in the way sometimes. Not as much as it used to, though -- she really owes him one for telling her how to end the sickness LOL.
Aww! Actually, you know... if she gave in, he wouldn't really mind. Those kinds of things give him an intolerably warm and fuzzy feeling that he might enjoy getting accustomed to. :>
Getting to know each other better would also be entirely acceptable to him. Of course, Hana thinks that Sarah (like most of the other people he knows and is not for whatever reason terrified of / ambivalent towards) is super cool. 8)
Sarah always has a soft spot for teenagers, because she sees in them how much potential they have. She automatically takes on a mentor-like role with them, and Mitsuru is no exception. She admires her drive to excel, but really wishes she would relax a little -- she's afraid Mitsuru will burn out, especially because of her paranomal extracurricular activities.
She likes Mitsuru's company, but also spends time with her to try and draw her out a little.
Sarah thinks Jeff is a really kind, warm-hearted guy, who unfortunately has the worst luck. She worries about him because he's human, and she knows how vulnerable humans can be in the Nexus. She really admires how much he sticks up for his friends and how he's able to learn and grow from his experiences.
