Yeah, it had green water. Green beer is ridiculous. Patsfan and I went out for a couple of pints last night and saw people drinking it. But it was Budweiser. WTF? Patsfan stuck with Guinness, and I tried a black-and-red (Guinness and Hooker). That's Irish beer

LOL!! Actually, I think the emphasis was the other way around at the time.

And now I've gone and looked it up on Wiki. Apparently, the holiday commemorates the evacuation of British forces from the city of Boston following the Siege of Boston, early in the American Revolutionary War.

Considering it took until 1901 to declare it a holiday, I still say it's an excuse for closing the city down for St. Patrick's. LOL

Although, according to my darling husband, who has made the pilgrimage to the banks of the Liffy, we foreigners are drinking stuff that tastes nothing like "real" Guinness.

Even the Guinness we had in London tasted different than the Guinness here. And then, of course, there's the problem of us Americans insisting that ALL beer must be cold.

Yeah, you can't be drinking Guinness cold... That's just, um, no. Just no. Slightly chilled is the best I will let you get away with for any kind of stout! Lager can be cold, but not ale or stout.

That whole pinch if you are not wearing green thing. Doesn't happen here.

We do pinch, punch, first of the month, though. If you are actually 6, it's fun. Not so much as an adult though... :P
