WTF?? I'm sorry, Bellamy needs about 10 straight volumes of character development and awesomeness before he can join the crew. And NOBODY is allowed before Jinbei or Law (I know this is unlikely, but a fangirl can dream), or there will be RIOTS.

Jeez, even at manga pace it took forever to actually see him. As awesome as it was for Sabo to come back (so unexpected for it to happen so soon!), I'm not sure I think the arc gets that awesome right here. This is the end of volume 73, and I remember 74 being...kinda meh, and 75 being SUPER AWESOME. But it's possible that any awesomeness in 74 was overshadowed by my frustration at Sabo not being properly introduced for so long?

Yeah, I really can't imagine Bellamy becoming nakama myself. (I think there is a tendency on the fan boards to speculate about possible nakama every time a character becomes even semi not evil). I have also seen speculation that he might eventually join Bartolomeo's crew (because jeez, poor guy needs a home), and that Bartolomeo's ship might be tagging around after Luffy with or without his consent... this I find far more probable. ^_ ( ... )

Yeah, joining Bartolomeo's crew would make more sense to me (as does the tagging along, though I'm not sure I would really want them to be around all the time--I might not find Bartolomeo as funny as you do).

Ah, well, when compared to the endless coliseum fight, yes, 74 is totally awesome, haha. But compared to 75, I'd give it a meh. (Though I liked Usopp's dramatic speech at the end, and I think the soldier's flashback was in there, too?)

Yes to both. I think the latter half of 74 was definitely on an upward trend.
