peridot_lines' birthday. It was 30 minutes ago for me, and is in 30 minutes for her. Kate, you're an amazing friend and have supported me through more than you ever should have had to. I love you to pieces, and I hope this year kicks ass for you.
Sofia's decision to purchase a motorcycle had been random, spur of the moment, and completely against her nature. She had always wanted one as a teenager, but as she got older she realized the sensibilities of a more reliable vehicle - specifically one with four wheels. Now she had a bonus, an end of the year gift from the department and a tidy down payment on the bike that she was now straddling. The blue and silver BMW rumbled beneath her, ready and willing to move at her command. Snapping the visor of her helmet down she hit the throttle, reveling in the immediate takeoff and the wind against her skin.
She drove around for a bit, just getting used to the speed and pickup of the machine. Idling in front of a large store window on the strip, she took in her appearance. There was no question that she looked hot on the bike; even she could admit that. The muscles in her arms stood out and her clothes seemed to hug her curves even tighter. For a moment it all felt so surreal, seeing herself that way, ageless and rebellious. But then the light changed and the guy behind her was honking. Dream-like state broken, she took off towards the lab. She had to share this.
Sofia and Sara had been dating for several months at that point, and Sofia was happier then she had ever been. The relationship was difficult, but there was no question that it was worth the effort. Sara's relationship with Grissom had ended upon her return from her mother's. She had discovered much about herself then, including coming to terms with her bisexuality. That was far from the reason she and Grissom parted ways - the way Sara retold it, she couldn't be with someone who couldn't support her during the worst time in her life.
She and Sara didn't come together until months after that. An innocuous dinner between friends had turned into a night of drunken sex, and then lots of questioning about what it all meant. Once everything was put aside, they had decided to make a go of it, and it was actually working out. And now? Sofia couldn't wait to share her new bike with Sara. Pulling into the lab parking garage, she sat right outside the elevator and texted Sara.
Got a surprise. Come to the parking garage.
Snapping her phone shut and returning it to her pocket, Sofia waited. Finally the elevator door dinged open, revealing a slightly frazzled Sara. She spotted Sofia and walked towards her, not really paying attention to the rest of the picture.
"You will not believe the day I had, we..." Sara trailed off, her eyes widening slightly: "What's this?"
"I decided to splurge with my bonus," Sofia replied, grinning at her lover.
"Quite a splurge," Sara answered, pursing her lips into a small smile and running a finger over the bike's shiny fiberglass body. "Tell me about it."
"It's a BMW R1200ST. Technically it's a high performance bike. Four cylinder, and-"
"Take me for a ride," Sara interrupted, her voice dropping slightly with excitement. Sofia couldn't say no, and she grinned broadly before pointing to the helmet on the hook by the tiny second seat. Sara donned it quickly and mounted the bike with ease.
"You've done this before," Sofia said, surprise in her tone as she felt Sara settle in.
"Yeah, uh, boyfriend in college..." Sara trailed off absent mindedly as she adjusted and finally moved her hands to Sofia's waist. Sofia just chuckled and pulled her helmet on. She started the bike and reveled in the roar of the engine and the powerful vibrating between her legs. It was amazing. Pushing away from the ground and turning the throttle, she tucked her feet up and they took off.
Hitting the open road was the only thing on Sofia's mind, and once they got there she settled the bike into a comfortable speed and allowed herself to relax. She could feel Sara's arms around her waist, holding a little more tightly than she needed to. That made Sofia smile. Eventually Sara's chest came to rest fully against Sofia's back, and she could feel Sara's heart beating even through their clothes. The feeling was almost symbiotic, just them and the bike and the wind whipping past them. She felt an intimacy and a connection that she hadn't really shared with anyone before.
Eventually Sofia glanced at the clock set into the bike's dials and blinked in surprise. It was almost two AM and they were very far out of Vegas. Luckily there were small rest stops dotted across the highway, and she was able to pull into one. After parking the bike, she sat up and pulled the helmet off.
"I wondered when you were going to stop. Not that I minded," Sara added quickly, and Sofia glanced over her shoulder to see Sara's grin.
"You could've said something or poked me. I didn't hear too many objections," she answered, watching as Sara got off and winking at her.
"I think you'd have a hard time getting an objection from me," Sara replied, sliding her arms around Sofia's neck and kissing her lightly. "Now, let's pee and hit the road again."
"And eat," Sofia reminded her, ignoring Sara's eyeroll.
"Yes, yes. We'll eat," Sara said, skipping away from Sofia's swat easily. The pair headed to the bathroom before finding themselves parked in front of a vending machine. Sara had already selected a water from the drink machine and was sipping it slowly as she eyed the various treats.
"Water goes through you faster than soda. We'll be stopping again before Vegas," Sofia teased, her half cocked smile taking the bite out of the words.
"Because getting back to Vegas is such a priority," Sara mumbled, putting some quarters into the machine. She purchased a bag of pretzels and a power bar before leaving Sofia to make her selections. Sofia chuckled and got some chips and hostess cupcakes before following her girlfriend. The ass in front of her did not go unappreciated, and she got a nice look before Sara swung her leg over the bike. Balancing precariously, her meal spread on her thighs, Sara began to eat. Sofia straddled the front seat and slid the key into the ignition before facing Sara and digging into her chips. They ate in silence for a while, but halfway through her second cupcake Sofia looked up to see Sara staring at her.
"What?"
"You have some icing..." Sara trailed off, cocking her head a little and watching Sofia swipe at her face.
"Got it?" Sofia asked. Sara shook her head and leaned forward, licking the icing from her lip before pulling back an inch.
"I got it," Sara said, her voice amused and slightly husky. Sofia just mumbled her thanks and leaned forward to kiss Sara again. Their lips pressed together with ease, and Sofia slid her hands up to cup Sara's face and keep her from pulling away. Her tongue gently prodded at Sara's lips and Sara parted them slightly, letting their tongues stroke against one another. It quickly escalated from there, and soon Sofia felt Sara's hand skimming across her breast before cupping it fully. Groaning, she pushed up against Sara's hand and broke the kiss.
"We should stop," Sofia gasped, meeting Sara's eyes.
"We should keep going," Sara countered, cocking her eyebrow in challenge. Sofia was about to object, but Sara's hand cupped her through her jeans and all rational thought went out the window.
"Yeah, OK," Sofia agreed quickly, pulling Sara in for another searing kiss. Sara pushed Sofia back slightly, and one hand slid behind her for support. Sara's fingers caught the key and the ignition rumbled on, causing both women to gasp as the vibration ran down the length of the bike. Sofia moaned as Sara slid her hand worked at Sofia's pants. The vibrations were humming against her clit perfectly, and she ground down into the seat. Sara's deft fingers made it into her panties and nudged against her clit before moving to dip into her folds.
"Fuck, Sara," Sofia moaned, dropping her head back and pushing into Sara's hand. She wasn't sure which felt better, the vibrating or Sara's fingers. Sara leaned forward and attacked the exposed skin of Sofia's neck with her teeth and tongue as her fingers slid through Sofia's folds to nudge at her clit. Rocking her hips up, Sofia tried to get more contact, but Sara held off and teased her. With a growl, Sofia grabbed Sara's hand and held it while she pushed herself onto Sara's fingers, needing the contact. She was so close, she just need a little more...
"Come for me, baby," Sara muttered huskily into Sofia's ear, and Sofia pushed into her hand a few more times before coming hard. Sara pulled back with a wicked grin on her face and extracted her hand. Her fingers moved forward to Sofia's lips, and Sofia took them into her mouth, tasting herself on Sara's fingers. As she came back to her senses, she saw Sara's hips working back and forth on her seat, and groaned at the sight.
Slipping a hand beneath Sara's shirt, Sofia pushed her bra aside and cupped her left breast, squeezing gently and tweaking the nipple with her thumb. Her other arm slid around Sara's waist as she pulled up to kiss her. With a shuddering moan, Sara came, her fingers clutching Sofia's shoulders tightly. They broke the kiss, staring at each other in shock. The only noises in the still night were their harsh breathing and the rumble of the bike's engine. Licking her lips, Sara shook her head slightly before giving Sofia a half cocked smile.
"I can't believe we just did that," she mumbled, adjusting her bra and reaching forward to button Sofia's pants.
"Me either. I'm never selling this bike now," Sofia said, grinning and kissing Sara one more time before sitting back.
"The food is done for," Sara answered, pointing to the mess on the ground. Sofia just chuckled and got off the bike, picking it up and tossing it in a nearby trashcan.
"I'll make you breakfast when we got home," Sofia promised, and Sara's answering grin was all the confirmation she needed. Getting back onto the bike, she handed Sara her helmet before putting her own on. The sun was rising and cast an orange glow over the scene as Sofia pushed the bike back and headed back down the highway. She felt so free on the open road, like nothing could touch her. That feeling was even stronger on the bike. It made her never want to go home; it made her want to stay out forever and never deal with life's worries again. But this time was different, Sara was with her.
For once, she couldn't wait to get home.
