Worth every minute of effort you put into it. Murray really fought you, didn't he?
One teeny thing--depending on what year the story takes place, hotel room doors might have still opened with keys. I remember using key cards first about, oh, ten years ago or so, though it might have been a little longer.
Then again, I'm prone to Super 8 and Motel 6, not the Marriott. *g*
Also, cocktails! Not only Brandy Alexander, but Tom Collins, who show up in Thomas Alexander and Brandi Collins. Heh.
Congratulations on writing some lovely threesome sex, too. Mmm-mmm good.
Oh, d'oh!! You're so right about the keycardm, I didn't even think about it! This is set in 1987 or so...I guess I used a keycard at a Mariott around then. Maybe I'll make it a regular lock, rather than have to deal with the guys being surprised to see such a thing. ;)
No, no--it doesn't show, except that I know you struggled with the story, and Murray fights Cody & Nick (who does not look like George Eads, as I kept reminding myself *g*), so it was an easy skip to figuring it was him that gave you the trouble.
So, I suck and have never before told you how good I think this is, even though I've read it oh, I don't know, 3 or 4 times. Sorry!
Anyhow, yay you. One of my favourite bits is during the case, Cody and Murray's jealousy when they're listening to Nick, and what I really love about that is how jealous Cody is while at the same time Murray's thinking it's only him feeling that way. I adore how you manage that moment.
Love the rest of the story too. Hugs! Top effort :D
Yay!! I'm so glad you like this one too!! Writing this was just an enormous project and it still seems a little over long to me. But that favorite moment of yours is one of mine as well. :D
Duh! You write great! I like this story, even though I´m not into the threesome at all. But you put so much heart in it, it shows. Really pulling. Loads of heartbreak and then making up again - that´s wonderful! I had one sentence, I REALLY wanted to quote...but I had to read on...I gotta read it again, I mean I will for sure, and then I can quote - hopefully.
Yay!! I'm so glad you liked it, despite not liking the threesome.
I do have a couple of fics (namely Tequila and the teeny little sequel Tequila Sunrise, both linked in the "Riptide" page linked in the sidebar) that are Nick/Cody if that's your pairing.
I know!! Iread them already, but at "Double your pleasure", and I can´t comment there. So it´s great that loads of the fics are at the Pier, that way I can comment.
And so I won´t miss a single story, I read the stories from every author, one by one. And at Catyahs, there was a crosslink to this story...anyways, I love the way you write, and I will comment on the others, as soon as I get there. *g*
(Yeah, I know, that pairing IS predictable...*bg*)
Just had to comment--I love this fic so much, and was just rereading it and wanted to let you know how lovely the characterizations are, and how much it sparkles.
Nick leaned back into his arms. "I guess one great kiss can't solve everything."
Cody kissed the top of his head, then leaned forward and nuzzled Nick's cheek. "I guess not. Worked for us though." He found Nick's mouth and felt Nick's chuckle through their kiss.
That's totally awesome. I love this story! So glad you shared it with everyone.

It took me forever to figure out what Murray's hangup was, but once I did things *Started* falling together.
No Nick doesn't look like George Eads, but he does have dark hair and a really nice chest. ;)
