Okay, guys, should we do this? Only three of you expressed any interest; is that enough to work with? If I created a comm for it, we'd probably pick up a few more over time, but the post has aged off the torch_wood page and torchwood_three didn't pick it up, so I don't expect anyone else to show up before then. And Harriet, amazingly, doesn't seem to have a comm of her own

I'm thinking a fic comm with open membership, but specific timeline. Anyone can write anything, as long as it fits in with the timeline. This was we can get several ideas on how several things might end up working out.

Or perhaps as a fic challenge community? Rewriting every episode or so as a challenge in this new world, then voting on the one we like the best?

We could easily do a challenge within the context of an open community. I do like the idea of having multiple rewrites to choose from; even the ones that don't "win" would still be fun to read.

Re: the timeline, I was thinking each month we could pick one milestone (Canary Wharf, Cyberwoman, Abaddon, etc.) and keep the fic to no later than that milestone, then the next month move it forward to the next milestone. That would give us time to develop events in order while still giving people the freedom to write about earlier events that might have been neglected. I was originally thinking of covering a few months with each milestone, but there's no reason we couldn't do it on an episode-by-episode basis, at least for the Torchwood-proper episodes. I'd like to start with Harriet's election, though, and see a bit of what Torchwood 3 was like before "Everything Changes".

Hmm, I like that idea. See Torchwood pre Gwen Cooper. How the Team formed, based on what we know from Fragments and go from there, only changing it as mild ripples through the time since Harriet Jones stayed in Power.
