Suffice to say: I am working for The Alliance now.

Down, browncoats, down. References to the ever-mysterious Whedon aside (just who is he, anyway?), I'm not working for a nefarious interplanetary autocracy. In fact, I'm working for a group called "the Alliance"; it's a joint venture of sorts between Serck Controls Global Solutions and the West ( Read more... )

I went to Brisbane recently for work, and Amanda came with me. While there we thought we'd go out for tea. Hit the streets around 8:30, and most shops were already closed! This was right in the city center. After finding no restaurant open to eat at, we *just* made it into coles (running) before it shut at 9 to get some microwave food :(

I thought it really strange that a city center would basically shut down at such an early hour. Makes you realise how different Melbourne is.

Sadly, however, the servers are not called Caspar, Balthazar and Melchior.

Not yet at least, but with sufficient sticknotes and perhaps a memo, you should be able to achieve a namechange.

That is definitely strange... about closing times. I agree... become a mayor and change it or something! Anyways, I guess that means you'll just have to do shopping for a week on Saturdays, or shop as soon as you leave work and take it home with you. What's the one nice place that you can afford look like? :)

And why are you listening to commercial radio... when you have an i-river?

Ah... that would be because my iRiver headphones are packed in a cardboard box in Melbourne, and the commercial radio is on a stereo in the office...

Today, I brought earplugs. :)

Ah dear... no headphones :\ hehehe... it's so bad you need earplugs... can you borrow headphones from somebody or does the i-river need specific ones?

I'll go buy some shortly... they don't need special ones. I don't know if I'll actually use the earplugs... but I have them just in case.
