I've read some of those series you're looking into getting, haha. Um. My friends and I sort of unanimously voted that the Maximum Ride series was something you should borrow rather than buy, because you will feel cheated. DX Though that might have been just us. Um.
The Odd Thomas... I've only read the last book in the series, but it's kind of one of my favorite books. My other friend has read them all and confirms that yes, they actually are that decent, but we like to suggest you have some funny manga on hand for after or you will not sleep.XDD
I actually really liked the Pendragon Adventure, esp. the worldbuilding, but it's a pretty long series and I did not have enough money to get beyond book five. WHICH PISSES ME OFF INCREDIBLY BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED~~~~ The last two I had to borrw from that same friend I mentioned before ( ice_killer )because they are expensive, at least down here. DX Something to keep in mind

thanks for the advise on maximum ride. Perhaps I'll borrow it if I find a chance . . . or maybe just watch the movie instead, hopefully it is good xD (I've heard there's gonna be a movie of it)
odd thomas is good and scary? Worth checking out then xD
pendragon has too many series? o_o;;; doubt I could catch up on that
About Stormbreaker . . . I see. Hhhmm . . . maybe I'll go check out the movie first xD
Lost Years of Merlin . . . seems promising *_*
One of Black's stories have werewolves?! *_* ME LIKEY xD
Something else to consider: I walked into the bookstore yesterday and noticed that BOTH the first volumes of Maximum Ride and the Odd Thomas series were available in graphic novel form.(In addition to the Stormbreaker graphic novel series I'd seen in my library.) It was kind of like this--
KURI: *suffers minor hert attack in front of paltry YA shelves*
*and then again before mystery section*
KURI:s-sob
I flipped through both, and the art was good, pretty solid, and graphic novels DO adhere to the book plot a lot better than a movie tends to do, so maybe you'd be better off with them?
Hmm, instead of Tithe by Holly Black, I suggest Valiant instead. It's written better, and the character interactions are more compelling, imo. Plus, faeries in New York City. =P Fairy glamour used as drugs. It's awesome.
The Pendragon series... I dunno, I mean, it was an interesting concept, with the whole different worlds thing, but I found them all very much the same after one or two books. The structure's all very similar and nothing particularly sparks me to want to read further. Also, it might have something to do with the fact I just don't particularly like our protagonist.
Um Stravaganza and Skin Hunger has always been highly recced to me, but I haven't tried them out as of yet...
Oh no, Valiant isn't the sequet at all! That would be Ironside. lol, Valiant is just the book that takes place in the same universe as Tithe and Ironside, but with a completely different cast and story. Me like it lots. =D
oh my! so many! O.O i think im going to make you my reference whenever i feel like a good book. ^^ lol and idk any of the books that youve mentioned though..>.< lol i will soon enough. xP
I haven't really read nor bought all those books mentioned in this entry though, okayz ^^; they just got my interest =3 Will be saying what I really think about them when I find the chance to read them xD hehe
