I don't mean to be obnoxious, but this story was pretty irritating. ^^;;;
First of all, none of the students, including the last one, were able to answer the professor's questions! And secondly, rather than using sound logic and reasoning to shut up the professor, he just used some circular crap that would have been easily brushed off if the professor knew what he was doing.
"Faith" isn't all there is. D:
Sorry for hijacking your post. ^^; I just really needed to say it. :/
Oh no, it's your journal, and the only things you should cut are porn and things you *want* to cut! And plus, it's not that big a deal. XD
Meh, I really have no place to talk about religion and whatnot. I mean, I have my own ideas and beliefs on the matter based on what I've learned and reasoned out, so *shrugs*
And it didn't make my blood boil, it was just one of those eyeroll reactions. ^^; I just have this dislike for blind faith and general "let's not think things through" things. :3
This makes me sad. Sad in the "I am a little bit angry" sense. Science doesn't need faith. Science proves things. Yes, the link between God and man is faith because man doesn't have anything else to latch onto to "prove" that there is a god. For example, a lack of proof for a god's existence is no - NOT - the same as "lol darkness doesn't exist, it's the absence of light". Duality my ass. Darkness has been proved to be the absence of light. No-scientific-proof hardly proves the existence of God. Basically, I find this e-mail forward to be vomitacious.
That being said, I hate both the student and the professor in this. They are both jerks.
((*pops out of NOWHERE to reply, since Nella passed this along to me >XP Is Regan on the KND forums btw*))
In general I think the "God vs Science lol lol God is disproved by lack of evidence, Science is disproved by faith lol lol" arguement is complete trash, considering that each side always seeks to prove itself by using its own principals. Thusly, the victor will always be the one that operates via the same laws that the current arguer is using. Thusly thusly, nobody ever actually wins, outside of each respective side's head. Thusly thusly thusly, the whole arguement is quite stupid, a waste of time, and should be set aside until the day that someone actually finds a fair way to simultaniously judge both sides
( ... )
I read this story before. I don't think it's real. I don't trust the information contained in 99.99% of forwarded mails.
I mean, I'm a Christian, and really, actually I DO believe in evolution. Many creatures and plants evolved from the Dinosaur Age to the animals we have today (like crocodilians evolved from much larger reptiles, and elephants, tigers; mammoths and sabertooths?) I believe in evolution, just not apes evolve into humans because hell, if apes evolved into man, why are there still apes around?!
I've found stuff saying that the story of creation and evolution can actually be linked together. God didn't specify what animals he created afterall . . .just the types (land, water, air) xD
The thing about humans coming form apes is a very common misconception regarding evolution. According to evolution, humans actually came from a different specie . . .which I forgot the name x_X so we technically didn't reallt come from apes xD

Mind we become friends in lj? =3
Anywayz, you have a point there ^_^
Especially on this one:
I think a whole lot of problems would be solved if everyone just let everyone else alone, and let them keep them in peace. ^^
. . . .totally X_X

And yeeeeah... that'd probably solve about 95% of the problems out there. >___>
