[Tsuyukusa has good timing. It's just about dawn, and Heihachi is coming home from his shift guarding the gate, rubbing his eyes sleepily and yawning.
He wasn't expecting to see Tsuyukusa, so at first glance the sight of him make Heihachi perk up. But then he notices the blood. There's a lot of it, and Tsuyukusa is a damned mess, and it makes his heart catch in his throat. They were just getting better. He was just starting to think they'd be alright, and his beloved tree wouldn't be hurt again.
He drops the empty lantern he was carrying, and doesn't even care if it breaks.]
T-Tsuyukusa!
[Oh god just don't be dying. He's pulling the demon into his arms as quickly as possible, nevermind the wisdom of not moving an injured person.]
[Shitsuren starts moving the moment Heihachi speaks, albeit in sluggish, weak movements. He's mostly dead weight, though, simple enough to manhandle. He slides open his left eye blearily, surveying Heihachi with a nearly calm curiosity.]
Heihachi...
[And his wounded hand reaches up to gently touch Heihachi's face, and he blinks in curiosity.]
Who's Ts-
[His brow furrows, he can't remember the name Heihachi had just called so desperately. Huh.]
[Okay, he must be delirious. He's obviously lost a lot of blood and -- oh god, his eye. This is not good. Not good at all, and Heihachi's kind of bursting into tears already.]
What happened to you?! Who did this-- Tsuyukusa...
I-I should call a doctor! Will a human doctor work on you? Can you heal yourself at all? What do I do...?!
[He seems flustered by this, even with how woozy he is. The last thing he needs right now is a crying Heihachi, so he starts awkwardly stroking his lover's face with his injured hand, accidentally smearing him with blood.]
I- don't know. I don't want anyone- touching me, but healing myself is...
[Heihachi is apparently an exception to the touching thing, at least until Shitsuren can think straight.]
